Tressie M. Franks, 78, of Colona, died Thursday, March 13, 2003, at her home.

Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gospel Lighthouse Church of God, Colona, where she was a member. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Family Funeral Services, Colona. A memorial will be established.

She was born Oct. 7, 1924, in Natural Bridge, Ala., the daughter of Eulas and Martha Head Garrett. She married Odie Tittle in Winston County, Ala., he preceded her in death. She married Melva "Wick" Franks April 15, 1958, in Mississippi, Ala. He died in 1994.

She was employed as a CNA at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley, for many years, retiring in 1984.

She enjoyed quilting, gardening, church choir and church activities.

Survivors (and spouses) are daughters, Linda (Bob) Smith, Moulton, Ala., Ann (Tony) Allen, Decatur, Ala., Sharon (Wayne) Clark, Haleyville, Ala., Debra (Don) Anderson, Coldwater, Miss., Kathy (Tim) Becker, Colona, Janice Walker, Van Alstyne, Texas; sons, Bobby (Dianne) Tittle, Lynn, Ala., and Rick Franks, Moline; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Edith Horton, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and a brother.
