Born in Syracuse, Carolyn had been a resident of Chittenango since 1959. She was retired as an EKG technician from Crouse Hospital in Syracuse. Carolyn was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Chittenango. She was a life member of the VFW Post No. 600 Ladies Auxiliary in Canastota, a past member of the North Chittenango Fire Co., past associate member of the Wampsville Fire Department, past volunteer with EAVES, and a past volunteer with the Madison County Historical Society.
She was predeceased by her husband, James in 1997, her son Paul in 1993 and her daughter Diane in 1983. Surviving are her sons, James Flynn Jr., John (Susan) Flynn of North Carolina, and Timothy (Julie) Flynn of Kirkville; her daughter, Fritz Haas (Keith) of Florida; her brothers, Robert Bardou of East Syracuse and Pete Bardou of Syracuse; her grandchildren, Amy Haas, Shaun Flynn, Tiffany Flynn, Amanda Flynn and Mackenzie Flynn, and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Church, Murray Drive, Chittenango. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Chittenango. Calling hours will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the G.F. Zimmer Funeral Home, 702 Legion Drive, Chittenango. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Madison County Historical Society, 435 Main St. Oneida, N.Y. 13421.
