Services for Melva "Wick" Franks, 64, of 604 11th Ave., Green Rock, are 11 a.m. Saturday at Fairman Funeral Home, Green Rock. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.

Visitation is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. A memorial fund has been established.

Mr. Franks died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 1994 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport.

He was born Jan 26, 1930, in Guin, Ala., the son of Larken and Cora A. Darty Franks. He married Tressie Mae Garret April 15, 1968, in Mississippi, Ala.

He was employed for 31 years as a ball cannon operator at John Deere Foundry, Silvis, retiring in 1992.

He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 81.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Survivors include the widow; daughters, Debra Franks, Moline, Kathy Brandle, Green Rock, Janice Mayers, Lewisville, Texas, Linda Pounders, Russellville, Ala., Ann Allen, Decatur, Ala., Sharon Clark, Haleyville, Ala., and Judy Robinson, Sulligent, Ala; sons Rick Franks, Moline and Bobby Tittle, Lynn, Ala.; 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Corene Harrinton, Melville, La., Lucille Linley, Brillant, Ala., and brothers, Buddy Franks, Hamilton, Ala., Joe Franks, Winfield, Ala., Paul Franks, Milan, and Jim Franks, Port Byron.
