Helen L. Gannon LORAIN — Helen L. Gannon (nee Arnold), 78, of Lorain passed away Friday, April 19, 2013 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain following a sudden illness. She was born in Bristol, Va. on May 9, 1934 and had been a longtime resident of Lorain. Helen was a homemaker who loved reading her bible, gardening, and westerns. She was very strong in her Baptist faith and had a charitable heart. Helen loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren, whom she truly adored. Survivors include her children, Tom (Debbie) Gannon of Wakeman, James Gannon, Lisa Givens, and Melissa Gannon, all of Lorain, 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, brother, Robert Arnold of Bristol, Va., sisters, Mary Davenport of Bristol, Tenn., and Beulah Phillips of Bristol, Va., and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband James A. Gannon, great-grandchildren, Catlyn and Taylor, brothers, Virgil, William, Charlie and James "Buck" Arnold, sisters, Hazel Booher and Myrtle Catle, and by her parents, Monte and Nancy (nee Fleener) Arnold. Friends may call Monday, April 22, 2013 from 11 a.m. until the time of the services at 1 p.m. at Wyers Funeral Chapel 2900 North Ridge Road Sheffield Township. The Rev. Jay Roller, Pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Lorain will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
