Sheila Mae Boyd, 64 of Baxter Springs, KS passed from this life on Monday, April 15, 2013 at the family's home.
Sheila was born January 12, 1949 in Yreka, CA to the union of Henry Allen and Laura Kathleen (Goddard) Meine. She was united in marriage to Charles William Boyd Sr. on July 28, 1965 in Springdale, AR. He preceded her in death on July 19, 2012.
Sheila spent her life loving and caring for her family and friends as a homemaker. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and taking care of her family and friends. She was known to be an excellent cook. She was of the Baptist Faith.
Sheila is preceded in death by her parents, husband and seven siblings. She is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Vance of Springfield, MO; five sons, Jeffrey Allen Horn-Boyd of Quiat, Bill Boyd and wife Katrina of Baxter Springs, KS, William Allen Boyd and wife Wendy of Baxter Springs, KS, Charles William Boyd Jr. of Baxter Springs, KS, and Tommy Wayne Boyd of Kansas City; one sister Sandra Sheppard and husband John of Springfield, Mo; Granddaughter Marissa Boyd and twenty two other grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the Arnhart Cemetery, Purdy, MO. Viewing will be on Tuesday at Derfelt's Baxter Chapel from Noon- 4:00 p.m. Pallbearers for the service are Allen Boyd, Bill Boyd, Rian Vance, Coty Boyd, Blue Spencer, and Ronnie Boyd.
