Son of Charles Edward Carr and Margaret P. Carr. He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 9 August 1915. He was training to be a pilot with the Australian Flying Corps in 1918 in England. Due to the lack of Australian training resources it was common for AFC Cadets to be attached to the Royal Air Force training squadrons. He died in an aeroplane accident, age 25 years.
