Rutha Pauline Bailey, 90, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, died April 16, 2013, at Go Ye Village, Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Born January 24, 1923, in Delaware County, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Daniel M. Ward and Lydia May Birkes Ward. She was employed and lived much of her life in the Tahlequah area. She cooked for the Teresita School and Northeastern State University. Rutha worked for Liberty State Bank, as well as Food-4-Less. She owned a green house where she grew flowers which she shared with many. She was a devoted mother and friend, and was a wrestling fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband Francis Bailey; two children, Donna and Hugh; six brothers, Tom, George, Charlie, Pat, Roy and Richard Ward; and two sisters, Edith Sumner and Katy Huffman;
Survivors include two sons, Danny Bailey and wife Barbara of Rose, Oklahoma, and Kenneth Bailey and wife Charlotte of Cookson, Oklahoma; one daughter, Judy Copeland and husband J.W. of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends..
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 22, 2013, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas, with Pastor Jimmy Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Allen Cemetery, near Moseley, Oklahoma
