Pratt "Morris" Crews, of Winchester, Tennessee, passed away at home after a long illness, on Sunday, April 14th, 2013. Morris was 77 years old. He was born on March 15th, 1936 in Folkston, Georgia and is preceded in death by his parents, Pratt Carswell Crews and Mary Lucy Pierce Crews. He was a 1955 graduate of Camden High School in Woodbine, Georgia, where he lettered in football and track. He attended Georgia Southern in Statesboro, Georgia. Morris worked for Otis Elevator Company, traveling to Cuba and cities all over America. He then began a career in the paper mill industry. His last place of employment was Temple-Inland in New Johnsonville, TN where he retired after 28 years in 1998. He was a 32nd degree 50 year Mason and a Member of The Scottish Rite. Before his illness, Morris was very active. He loved to fish, hunt, dance and work in his woodshop. He enjoyed working in his garden with his flowers and he had a super green thumb. He was always known as a hard worker and a good friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, W.L. Crews and Erving Crews, both of Nahunta, Georgia and a niece, Linda Drury of White Oak, Georgia.

Morris is survived by his wife, Jerry Lynn Crews; sons, David (Grace) Crews of Park Hill, Oklahoma and Philip (Diane) Crews of Waverly, Tennessee and a daughter, Merinda (Tim) Young of Virginia. Step-son, John (Tina) Tomlinson of Daphne, Alabama and step-daughter, Jodi Lynn Craig of Silverhill, Alabama; grandchildren, Christopher Crews, Angela Crews and Christina Young; step-grandchildren, Evan Chase Tomlinson, Chelsey Tomlinson and Chancellor Tomlinson; and his mother-in-law, Bobbye Fowler of Winchester.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 P.M., Saturday, April 20th at Kilgore Funeral Home in Tullahoma. Services will follow at 3:00pm. A private interment will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Mary's, Georgia. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Amedisys Hospice Care, especially Amanda Robinson, Connie James and Shelia Edwards for their love and support.
