Services will be held for Mr. George Porter Adcock, 77, of Shreveport at 11 a.m. Friday, September 18 at the Rose-Neath Marshall St. Chapel. Rev. Ron Murray, Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church of Shreveport, will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Park. He died at 10 p.m., Tuesday, September 15, 1981, at P & S Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Adcock, born in Hall Summit, Louisiana, and a resident of Shreveport most of his life, was a self-employed Food Distributor. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Shreveport, the Masonic Lodge No. 241 in Hall Summit and the El-Karubah Shrine in Shreveport.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Christine Toler Adcock of Shreveport; son, Stephen Adcock of Houston, Texas; daughters, Anita Calkins of Des Moines, Iowa, and Kathy Anderson of Houston, Texas; six sisters, Eunie Poland of Irving, Texas, Jeannie Pickett and Jewel Curry of Doyline, Louisiana, Mary Giddens of Ringgold, Louisiana, Nina Ruth Bennett of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Ada Bess Tolbert of Shreveport, Louisiana; two brothers, Elton Adcock of Lufkin, Texas and Elbert Adcock of Foreman, Arkansas; six grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers: Bill Stewart, Harold Thompson, Dr. Clinton Gill, H.J. McKinley, Richard Mcinnis and F.J. Savony.
