Mrs. Nellie G. Betzold, 84, a former Edwardsville resident who had made her home the past four years in Greenville, died Tuesday at 4:45 p.m. at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, where she had been a patient 10 days.
Born Aug. 21, 1875 in Worden, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Margaret Smith Grant. She was married to Albert W. Betzold Sept. 5, 1899 at St. John's Methodist church. He preceded her in death on June 29, 1952.
Surviving is a brother, Charles Grant of Detroit, Mich., and nieces and nephews. Three sisters and three brothers also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Betzold was a member of the First Presbyterian church and the Women's Association.
The body may be viewed at the Weber funeral home until the 2 p.m. service Thursday. The Rev. John P. Emig, pastor of the Presbyterian church, will officiate.
Interment will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
