He graduated from Austin High School in 1941. Russell was a US Army Veteran of WWII, where he served in the Philippine Islands and occupied Japan. Russell was a self-employed automotive mechanic, where he worked hand in hand with his wife for many years. During his younger years, Russell was involved in stock car racing, and enjoyed gardening in his golden years. Russell was a member of Lawrence United Methodist Church, Masonic Scott Lodge #120, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Murat Shrine.
Russell is survived by his lovely wife Jalah Rose and his children Eary Dayton (David Dayton), Anthony Rose (Debbie Rose) and Mary Weston (Jeff Weston), 10 Grand Children, 15 Great Grandchildren and Sister Faye Harbold.
Preceded in death by daughter Mildred Martin, and parents Faris & Janie Rose.
