Lena LaDean Scott

Lena LaDean Scott, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend too many, died on January 31st, 2013 in Denver, Colorado. Lena was born in Baca County, Colorado on October 6th, 1933, to Sherman Goldie Scott, and Nettie Lena Scott (nee Poyner). Predeceased by her husband, Carl in 2010 and son, Dennis in 1956; Lena is survived by her children, David (Mary) Scott of Divide, Colorado, and Tammy (Richard) Stewart of Aurora, Colorado; her grandchildren Ashley (Curt) Johnson of Norfolk, Virginia, Krystie Scott of Charleston, South Carolina, Garrett Stewart of Whidbey Island, Washington, and Brandon Scott of Aurora, Colorado; Sisters Velma Gregory of Walsh, Colorado and Ruthie Lamer of St. Charles, Missouri; and brother Calvin Scott of Walsh, Colorado. She will be missed by many other relatives and friends.
Carl and Lena were married in Champagne, Illinois in 1951. Carl and Lena raised their family in Colorado, Kansas and Germany while Carl served in the U.S. Air Force. After the children were in school, Lena worked outside the home as an Army Air Force Exchange Service Assistant Manager on Lowry Air Force Base in Denver Colorado. In retirement, Lena and Carl enjoyed spending time with each other and their travels to visit their children and grandchildren and friends. Her greatest pleasure was received when spending time with her family.
A celebration of Lena's life will be held at Walsh Colorado Cemetery on Tuesday February 5, 2013 at 1:00 PM. A reception will follow in the Walsh Wesleyan Church, 43000 US Highway 160, Walsh, Colorado.
