Walter Briggs, a Vernon county farmer, resided 12 miles east of Sheldon, Missouri with his wife Margaret.
He had married Margaret Violet Haynes January 11, 1874 in Saline, Mo. when he was 22 years old. According to his Missouri Death Certificate he died of cardio/renal failure at 85 years old. He was the son of David Briggs 1806 – 1861 and Abigail Alma Johnson 1811 – 1878
