TEXT OF OBITUARY: (April 24, 2001)
Barry A. Knight, Sr.
CHEROKEE SPRINGS, SC--Barry Allen Knight, Sr., 59, of 543 Green River Road, died Monday, April 23, 2001 at his residence. A native of Spartanburg County, he was the husband of Annie Moore Knight and a son of the late Calvin Allen and Margaret "Byars" Knight. He was retired from Mayfair Mills as personnel manager for 18 years. He was a former chief of Cherokee Springs Volunteer Fire Department and past
President of Spartanburg County Fire Chiefs Association. He was an avid fisherman. He was a charter member of Cannons Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by one daughter: Crista Knight Agnew and son-in-law Dr. James G. Agnew of Lake Bowen; one son, Barry Allen Knight, Jr. and daughter-in-law Angie Knight, of Chesnee. Two grandchildren, Kendal Gilmour Agnew and Price James Agnew, also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, April 25, 2001 at Forest Lawn Mortuary Chapel in Chesnee with Revs. David Swofford and Mike Bradley, officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Memorial Gardens. Cherokee Springs Dept. will be Honorary Escorts.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Tuesday, at Forest Lawn Mortuary-Chesnee.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Dialysis Clinic, Patient Service Fund, 105 Tradd Street, Spartanburg, SC, 29301.
The family is at the home.

Burial will follow in Springhill Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dialysis Clinic, Patient Care Fund, 105 Tradd Street, Spartanburg, SC, 29301.
