John Dover, Pioneer Settler of Madison County, Passes Away

MADISON. Neb, Oct 3. John W. Dover, pioneer settler of Madison county passed away at his home here Friday after a lingering illness of Bright disease and heart complications. The funeral exercises were held at the Methodist Episcopal church, Rev. Mr. Chamberlain officiating, and interment was made In Crownhill cemetery.

The deceased was born in England, March 14, 1852, and came to America in 1866, Living in Delaware county, Iowa, eleven years. In 1877 he came to Madison county and settle, upon a homestead a few miles northeast, of Madison where he made his home until three years ago when he took up his residence in this city. He was married to Susan C. Manning at Madison, October 2, 1880.

He Is survived by his wife, four sons, James of Spade, Neb., John B., Roy M. and Lawrence of Madison, and six daughters, Mrs. Eva Danford, Norfolk, Mrs. Pearl Winters, and Mrs. Myrtle Winters of Rushvllle. Neb, Mrs. Grace Franek, Mrs. Mable Carson and Mrs. Lena Nahrstet, Madison, also four brothers, F. James, Thomas Thomas E, and Henry D. Madison and Alfred of Enola, Neb., and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Hume; Lodgepole, Neb, and Mrs. Elizabeth Upton and Mrs. Sarah Bryant, Madison.
