John W. "Jack" Colbert, 67, of Hunker, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2005, in his home. Born Nov. 30, 1937, in Tarrs, he was a son of the late Ethan and Emogene (Solomon) Colbert. He retired from the 7-Up Bottling Company after many years of service as a salesman and driver. Jack was a member of Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, Tarrs, was a member of East Huntingdon Firemen's Club, Hempfield Hunt Club and Teamsters Local #30, and was a former member of the North South Skirmishing Association. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Germany during the Vietnam era. Surviving are a son, Brian K. Colbert, of Essex, Md.; a daughter, Suzanne L. Colbert, of Hunker; three brothers, Robert Colbert and wife, Mary Lou, of Beech Grove, Ind., James Colbert and wife, Janet, and Kenneth Colbert and wife, Linda, all of Mt. Pleasant RD2; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. (Shaffer) Colbert, in 1996; a son, John Colbert; and a sister, Joanne Colbert. There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, Tarrs
