A celebration of her life will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 22, 2013, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell with the Rev. Keith Morrison, Grinnell Regional Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Interment will be in Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.
Visitation will be held prior to her service at 9:00 a.m. on Monday at the Smith Funeral Home.

Betty was born the daughter of Herbert and Minnie (Colley) Corbett on December 26, 1928, in Newton, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Newton. She later received her GED from Marshalltown Community College.
Betty was united in marriage to Eldred W. Cox on January 24, 1946, at the First Friends Church in Grinnell. The couple made their home in Grinnell and Betty worked at local area businesses including The Glove Factory, Clean Towel Company, and the Mayflower Community.
Betty was a wonderful cook who enjoyed preparing new recipes for her family to try. She loved to spend time visiting with friends and family members. Her enjoyments included sewing, crocheting, canning, attending craft shows, playing ATARI games, solving crossword and jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, and going camping at Lake Thunderhead and Lake Rathbun.
Betty is survived by her children and their spouses, Linda (Lloyd) Jones of Grinnell, Edward (Shari) Cox of Marshalltown, Pat (Steve) Rutherford of Grinnell, Bud (Kelley) Cox of Grinnell, and Julia Cox of Marshalltown; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and one sister Gloria Stoulil of Newton, and one brother William Corbett of Baxter.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eldred W. Cox on January 4, 1994; her sisters, Mildred Cline, Louise Dodge, Kathryn Fields, Anna Jean Smith, Helen Mick, and Marjorie Harger; and her brothers, Arlis and LeRoy Corbett.
