This is one of the many ministers who found resting places in the old graveyard at Conneaut, Ohio. He was for some time of a skeptical turn of mind ; but when convinced of the truth of Christianity, he became a strong advocate of the same. I think he was a spiritual child of Oliver Barr. He was ordained May 2, 1844, at Conneaut, Ohio. Sermon by E. G. Holland ; other parts by Professor Huidekoper, and Elders Fish and Church.

Elder Badger, in a letter to the "Palladium/' Vol. XVIr page 37, speaks of Elder Benson as a man of good talent and upright life, and that he had labored with the church at Conneaut in 1847 with great success. He died about 1848, in the prime of life, not far from forty years of age.
