Ethel Mae Aiken — Orangeburg
Mrs. Aiken died Sunday, July 25, at The Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel M. Aiken, 89, of 1133 Pineland St., Orangeburg, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 31, 2004, at Simmons Funeral Home Chapel, Orangeburg, with the Rev. James K. Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Heavenly Rest Memorial Park Cemetery, Cordova.
She was born February 20, 1916, in Cope, a daughter of the late Franklin and Rebecca Odoms. At an early age, she affiliated herself with Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She attended the Orangeburg public schools. Mrs. Aiken lived in New York City for numerous years and attended Enamel Baptist Church in New York. She also attended the Church of God in Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Aiken.
Survivors include one daughter; six grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Simmons Funeral Home of Orangeburg is in charge of arrangements.
