Mrs. Maggie Lou Forrest-Toney-Akers
Funeral service for Mrs. Maggie Lou Forrest-Toney-Akers, 84, of Calhoun Convalescent Center, St. Matthews, will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at Canaan United Methodist Church, Cope, with the Rev. W.V. Middleton and Bishop Percell Sanders Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Heavenly Rest Memorial Park Cemetery, Cordova.
Mrs. Akers died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004.
She was the daughter of the late Annie Johnson-Forrest and Thomas Forrest. She attended the public schools of Cordova. She was a member of Calvary Methodist Church, which is now Edisto Fork. She was married to the late Reed Toney. After his death, she later married William Akers of New York.
She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Madelyn (Samuel) Johnson; one son, Clifford Forrest, of New York; two step-granddaughters, Tan'ee Johnson and Mrs. Tiyia (Jardel) Jean-Pierre; one step-grandson, Walter Jacobs, of Orangeburg; 13 step-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Simmons Funeral Home of Orangeburg is in charge of arrangements.
