"Dr. J. B. Futrell, 87, of Rector died Thursday at St. Bernard's Regional Medical in Jonesboro. He was born June 8, 1903 in Paragould. He served in World War II and belonged to First Methodist Church of Rector. He was a general practioner.
Survivors include: a son, Marion Futrell of Mount Zion, Ill; a daughter, Carolyn Cook of Rector; a brother, Dan Futrell of Hot Springs; two sisters, Janice Moore of Batesville and Nye McCall of Merced, Calif.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Former Gov. J. Marion Futrell and Teara Futrell.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church at Rector with Rev. Bob Burnham officiation.
Burial will be at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector.
