She was preceded in death by her husband, Barry Vines, and her father, Simpson S. Smith.
She is survived by her mother, Marie H. Smith, children, Dr. Greg Lansdell (Bradley) of Huntsville, AL, Dr. Deanne Vail (Tyler) of Birmingham, AL, brother, Dr. Bob Smith, New Orleans LA, sister, Susie Stewart (Charles) of Birmingham, AL and nephews, Chase Stewart, Jason Smith and niece, Stepheney Smith.
Ann grew up in New Hope and graduated from New Hope High School. She attended Samford University where she majored in voice. Ann was a faithful Christian and demonstrated grace and courage throughout her battle with Parkinson's. She loved to sing and was an active member of First Baptist Church of New Hope and First Baptist Church of Huntsville. She was an avid fan of University of Alabama football and Atlanta Braves.
The funeral will be Saturday, April 20, at First Baptist Church of New Hope. Visitation will be from 10-12 at the church with the service immediately following. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville.
The family would like to acknowledge the staff at South Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their care and kindness and her three special cousins, Betty Buford, Rhonda Childress and Sammie Laster for their care and undying love for Ann.
