Beatrice Annette Joy, 94, of Au Sable Forks, New York, went to her heavenly home with the Lord Jesus on April 9, 2013, at the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh, New York. She passed peacefully, smiling with several family singing at her side. Bea simply viewed death as the beginning of a new, exciting journey with Christ!

Beatrice was born to Walter and Minnie Williams of Au Sable Forks, New York. She was married to General McKinley (Ted) Joy for 60 years. They were blessed with four children, Sally, Theodore, Bruce and Timothy. Through marriage of Sally (John) Sheldrake, Bruce (Marjorie), and Tim (Karen), Beatrice was further blessed with nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. (Sheldrake, Joy, Ducharme, Gilbert & Falce). She has enjoyed, loved and cherished them all for many years. She supported her husband by keeping records for his logging business. Bea was a member of the Au Sable Forks United Methodist Church and Secretary/Treasurer of the North Jay Cemetery Association. Bea also loved traveling, gardening, reading, attending church, music/singing, teaching Sunday school, and having family gatherings.

Beatrice was predeceased by her husband Ted (1998); and son, Theodore (1951); and also by her brother, Arthur Williams; and sisters, Dorothy Hansen and Marion Smith. Bea is survived by a sister Edna Pelkey and many dear extended family members.

A memorial service for family and friends was held in the Au Sable Forks United Methodist Church at 3 p.m., May 5, 2013. Pastor Virginia Pierce participated with the family at this memorial, where Bea's life was honored and celebrated.
