Ephraim was born Sept. 17, 1701, son of William in Killingworth, CT. as documented in Vol. 1 pg. 78 of the Pre-Barbour Records. He was the son of William and Elizabeth (Sheather) Kelsey.

He married Jemima Kelcy Nov. 7, 1723, at age 22, in Killingworth, CT. documented in the Pre-Barbour Killingworth Records 1668- 1852 K-N. Jemima Kelcy was born Mar. 22, 1701, the daughter of Joesph and Hannah (Hayden)Kelcy documented in the Pre-Barbour Records Vol. 2 pg. 194 of Killingworth, CT.

The couple joined the Second Church of Westbrook, CT. Oct. 26, 1751 documented in the 2nd Church Records

His Will mentions a saw mill and saltmarsh in Killingworth. Named in his will are Jemima and children: Jedediah, Ephraim, Job, Mary, Ruth, and Stephen. The Will is dated Apr. 10, 1779 and proved in Saybrook, CT. May 6, 1780 as recorded with the Court.

His children are documented in the Pre-Barbour Records of Killingworth, CT.
