Billy A. Coleman, 62, of Lorain was pronounced dead on arrival Sunday at St. Joseph Hospital and Health Center after an apparent heart attack.
Born in 1930 in Pikeville, Ky., he was raised in Pikeville and lived for 28 years in Lorain.
He was a brick mason in residential and commercial construction, worked out of Bricklayers Union Local No. 34 in North Ridgeville, learned the trade as a youth from his father, worked in the trade his whole life and retired in August.
He was an Army Veteran, served in Korea and attained the rank of Corporal.
Mr. Coleman was a member of the Amherst Eagles Aerie 1442.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Joan R. (nee Justice); a son, Daniel H. Coleman of Apopka, Fla.; a daughter, Freda L.
(unreadable).
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Coleman, in June 1986.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave.., Amherst. Services with full Military Honors by the Amherst Veterans Military Honor Guard will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, with the Rev. Bradley W. Quick, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Elyria, will officiate.
Burial will be in Crown Hill cemetery in Amherst.
