Cora May Nelson 74, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013 in a Saint Joseph, MO hospital. She was born August 24, 1938 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of Loya and Emmett Nelson. She graduated from Benton high school class of 1956. She was the Postmaster for 22 years in Clarksdale, MO. She enjoyed reading, crafts, cross-stiching for her grandchildren, quilting, crossword puzzles and yahtzee, watching the wheel of fortune, traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of the Brethern, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and various postal organizations. Cora was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter-in-law, Terri Smith, granddaughter, Ashley Smith, two brothers, Robert "Buck" Nelson and Jim Nelson. Survivors include a daughter, Brenda (David) Lebsack of Saint Joseph, MO, four sons, Tim (Rene) Smith of Easton, MO, Mark Smith and Andy Smith both of St. Joseph, MO and Matthew Smith of Cameron, MO, seven grandchildren, Mandy Warner, Shain Smith, Stacey Smith, Robin Henry, Stevie Smith, Shelby Smith, and Shallon Lebsack ten great grandchildren, Saige, Taibor, Khai, Lukas, Charlie, Rylie, Kaylee, Milla, Macy and Joslynn, two sisters, Shirley Kretzschnar of Clarksdale, MO and Elizabeth Huffman of St. Joseph, MO, as well as many cousins and a host of friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am, on Friday, April 19, 2013 at Rupp Funeral Home, with Dr. Scott Kilgore officiating, The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery .
