LAURA D. SHARP
Hollister native Laura D. Sharp died this morning at a local convalescent hospital following a long period of failing health. She was 92.
Mrs. Sharp attented local schools and went on to graduate from San Jose Normal School and University of California at Berkeley.
She worked as a homemaker and for most of her adult life operated the family orchards with her husband, the late Eugene Sharp.
Mrs. Sharp was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Hollister and the First Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by son, Fred Sharp of Hollister; daughter-in-law Betty Sharp of Hollister; two grandchildren. Thomas F. Sharp of Reno, Nev., and Andrew J. Sharp of Hollister; and two great-grandchildren, Samantha Sharp of Reno and Andrea Sharp of Hollister.
Mrs. Sharp was preceded in death by a son Eugene Sharp Jr., a Grandaughter, Claudia J. Sharp, and a sister, Winfred Barnhisel Noble.
Private cremation was held today under the direction of Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home in Hollister.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
Contributions may be made to the Hazel Hawkins Convalescent Hospital Garden Fund or to San Benito Hospice care of the mortuary.
