Funeral rites were held Saturday for John Taylor Cross, 78, who died in a Durant hospital Thursday after a week's illness. Services were conducted by Rev. L.I. Pamplin and burial under direction of Murray Funeral Service, in the Bennington cemetery.
Born in Faulkner County, Arkansas, July 23, 1878. Mr. Cross had lived in Bryan county 19 years and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Holiness church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Catherine, four sons, Clyde Cross, Ringling, Oklahoma; Claude Cross, Rockville, Maryland; Marvin Cross, Kensington, Maryland; and Raphen Cross, Durant; two daughters, Mrs. Ella Andrews, Bennington; and Mrs John C. Myers, Mustang; a brother, Ike Cross, Paris, Texas; 29 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
