Memorial services for James C. Enlow were held at 5 PM on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel.

Mr. Enlow passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the Brian Center in Columbia after a brief illness. Born in Newberry County, he was the son of the late Clifton N. and Reba Amick Enlow. He was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church. He retired after 38 years at Southern Plastics as a Master Electrician.

Surviving are his son, James L. "Vladimir" Enlow and a sister, Dorothy Rucker. He was predeceased by a brother, Nathan Enlow, and his wife Anne Enlow.

This is the part where I talk about what a great person he was and what fond memories I have of him. Unfortunately...

In spite of all the things you did and didn't do, said and didn't say... I understand that you were deeply affected by your unfortunate younger years. Maybe it doesn't excuse things... but I can accept it as an explanation. It's no use being bitter about it all, because there's nothing to be gained from it.

I learned so much from you--even if it was by way of a bad example--that has informed and guided my life. And you--yes, even you--deserved to go out with more dignity than you did. I wish you all the best in the next world, and I hope you find whatever it was you were looking for that you couldn't find on earth.
