John W. MacEntee of North Mountain Road,
Gardiner, owner and operator of Midway Park, Gardiner, and a longtime area resident, died Tuesday, March 6, in Kingston Hospital, Kingston, after a long illness. He was 83.
MacEntee was a member of the Gardiner Reformed church, the Gardiner Fire Department and the Wallkill Masonic Lodge No. 627, Free and Accepted Masons.
The son of the late Elmer and Margaret De Grodt MacEntee, he was born Jan. 27, 1901.
Survivors include his wife, Edith M. Palen MacEntee, at home; two daughters; Gloria Kavanaugh and Mildred Fish, both of Gardiner; a brother, William MacEntee of the state of Florida; two sisters, Florence Bullock and Edith Hayes, both of Ellenville; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the Pine Funeral Home, New Paltz.
Burial was in New Paltz Rural Cemetery, New Paltz.
