Curtis Uyless Pace, 80, husband of Lula Mae Holliday Pace, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

He was born March 9, 1931, in Raleigh, N.C., a son of the late Johnny E. Perry and Elmira Virginia Pace.

He was a graduate of Shepard High School, Zebulon, N.C. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and served honorably. In his life, he sought the need for a personal Savior and joined Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Lula Holliday Pace of the home; one brother, Johnny (Telza) Perry of Raleigh; one sister, Mary (Al) Brown of Bronx, N.Y.; one grandson, Colin Abraham of the home; four stepdaughters, Luevenia Holliday and Geraldine Holliday, both of New York, N.Y., Esther Hollliday and Myrtle (Henry) Bennett, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one niece, Vickie (Bobby) Perry; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services: Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, 4829 Alex Harvin Highway, Manning, with the Rev. Dr. Ashley Vaughn, pastor, officiating, assisting Minister Carolyn Vaughn.

Burial: Elizabeth Baptist Church Cemetery.
