Carol was born January 10, 1931 in Blackfoot, Idaho. She was the daughter of Ralph C. Merkley and Olive May Bergeson Merkley. Carol lived most of her life in the Blackfoot (Rose) area, except for a few years in Careywood. She graduated from Blackfoot High School.
On May 26, 1948 Carol married Richard J. Lambert in Blackfoot. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Carol was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as the Young Women's President for many years, a calling that she truly enjoyed. She had various other positions as well.
She enjoyed raising and riding horses, gardening, visiting the Oregon Coast and spending many hours with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved so much.
Carol is survived by three children: Kris (Jim) Edison, of Boise, Richard Todd (RaeLynn) Lambert, of Blackfoot, and Lisa (Clint) Dance, of Middleton; brother, Dean Merkley, of CA; sister, Janice (Bud) Jensen, of Blackfoot; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; infant twin daughters; two sons: Craig and Mike; brother, Blaine Merkley; two granddaughters: Keisha Rae Dance & Dana Rae Lambert; and grandson, Jared Wray.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot. Family will meet with friends and relatives from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2013 at Hawker Funeral Home and for one hour prior to services.
Interment will follow at the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery in Idaho Falls.
