Raymond "Pop" E. Rodgers, 82, of Lake Meade in East Berlin, and Orlando, Fla., passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016, at the Orlando Regional Medical Center, Orlando, Fla.
He was born July 16, 1933, in Wellsville, the son of the late Lloyd D. and Verdella (Hinkle) Rodgers.
Raymond was a retired Inspector for BAE of York. He at one time worked as a Barber in Wellsville. He attended Christian Life Assembly, Camp Hill, and Community Presbyterian Church, Celebration, Fla. Raymond enjoyed spending time in Florida, everything Disney, playing games including marbles, solitaire, and checkers. He loved visits at his home, which was always open to everyone.
Raymond was a graduate of the former Dillsburg High School and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean war.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara "Barbie" J. (Palmer) Rodgers; one son, Steven R. Rodgers of Shrewsbury; two daughters, Kelly L. Klyce of Collegeville, Vicky K. Gearhart of East Berlin; and seven grandchildren, Quinton, Derik, Wyatt, Brandon, Courtney, Allison, and Anna.
Services will be held Thursday, May 19, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg. Burial will be in the Warrington Friends Cemetery, Wellsville. A viewing will be held Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
