Inscription

In 1970 when I transcribed this stone for a project I was working on, the following was visible:

In memory of Edmund Alger, Who died Nov. 21, 1817 AEt. 78.
You that are now in health,
And puting far away
The solemn hour of death,
And the great judgement day,
Consider this I pray,
That soon or late you may,
God's solemn voice obey,
And straight return to dust.

(The work Puting is transcribed exactly as it appeared on the stone.)
