Swan Johnson, and old and respected Swedish-American resident of Princeton, died at his home near the high school last Friday evening. His death was due to heart disease. Mr Johnson was 73y 3m 28d old and is the father of eleven children, all of whom survive and were present at his funeral. The funeral was held at the Swedish Mission church, ( where he had been a member since 1877 ) New Years day, Rev Osterholm officiating. Interment was in Oakland cemetery.


Swan Johnson was born in Westergotland, Sweden, August, 31, 1838. He came to this country on June 8, 1867, and was married to Hattie Sophia Gustavson March 21, 1871, and settled on a farm southeast of Princeton. He lived there until March, 1,1894. He moved to Princeton in that year and lived there until his death. He took sick December 21 and died December 29.
