Paula Jean Rutledge Barnes, 33 years of age, of Hunters Camp Road in Eastern Pulaski County, Kentucky, departed this life unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 16th, 2013.

Paula was born on July 16th, 1979, in Adrian, Michigan. Paula graduated from Sand Creek High School, Class of 1998. She enjoyed arts and crafts, collecting butterflies, and she loved to sew and cook. Paula was a loving daughter, mother, sister and friend. She was always joyful and outgoing.

Paula was survived by one daughter, Vanessa Jean Anderson of Jackson, Michigan; one son, Joseph Michael Grant of Ypsilanti, Michigan; her parents, Rick and Roxanne Metzmaker of Jasper, Michigan; eight siblings, Angie (and George) Quackenbush, Eric (and Megan) Metzmaker, Richard (and Renea) Rutledge, Robin (and Greg) Grames, George (and Kellie) Rutledge, Lucas Rutledge, Rachel (and Nate) Gearig-Rutledge, and Jessica Rutledge; grandparents, Dora and Howard Metzmaker; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Rutledge Sr.; and her Grandpa and Grandma Rutledge.

Visitations were held on Saturday, April 20th, 2013 from 12:00 noon until time of funeral services at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home in Adrian, Michigan.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20th, 2013 in the Chapel of the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home.

THIS IS A TRIBUTE IN MEMORY OF PAULA,

I'd like to leave an after glow
of smiles when life is done.
