He was born in Milton, son of the late William J. and Georgianna Oliver Carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Gertrude Lodge Carpenter; a daughter, Mrs. Curtis Seibert of Glenside, Pa.; two brothers, William J. and James, both of Cape May, N.J., and a sister, Mrs. William Day Sr., of Maple Shade, N.J.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at the Atkins Funeral Home, Lewes, with the Rev. W. W. Hamilton, pastor of Groomes Memorial Methodist Church, officiating.
