Frank Carpenter, 73, of McFee St., Lewes, died late yesterday morning at Beebe Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for four weeks. He had been in poor health for 13 years since falling from a ladder while working on a construction job. He was a well known building contractor.

He was born in Milton, son of the late William J. and Georgianna Oliver Carpenter.

He is survived by his wife, Gertrude Lodge Carpenter; a daughter, Mrs. Curtis Seibert of Glenside, Pa.; two brothers, William J. and James, both of Cape May, N.J., and a sister, Mrs. William Day Sr., of Maple Shade, N.J.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at the Atkins Funeral Home, Lewes, with the Rev. W. W. Hamilton, pastor of Groomes Memorial Methodist Church, officiating.

The age (73) in his obit doesn't agree with the dates on his marker (which imply an age of 76), but the reference to his wife, who is on the same marker, verifies that the obit is his.
