Richard was the oldest of the Eseke children. His middle name was his grandfather Gluesing's first name. Except his grandfather's first name was spelled Dietrich. Richard married Valda Cleo Mason and moved to Spirit Lake, ID. They had one son Robert Detrick Eseke born Oct. 23, 1919 and Richard had one step daughter Irene Davis born May 15, 1908.
Robert grew up to marry twice. His first wife was Carolyn Goff and his second wife was Lois Bernice Thomas. Robert was a taxi driver in Los Angeles, CA. in later years and on Jan. 5, 1968 he was murdered. This case was never solved.
Richard worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad and retired from the RR in 1953.
Richard chose a grave near the railroad track so he could wave at the engineers as they came by.
