He is preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine Bayne Spangler.
He is survived by his father, Charles L. Spangler of Vinton.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Sherwood Memorial Park with Dr. Michael Wrye officiating.
