Vicki Lynn Deer Allen, born July 30, 1951, passed away on April 15, 2013, due to an unexpected illness at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.

Vicki was the daughter of Gerald and Naomi Deer of Ironton.

Vicki was a graduate of Ironton High School (class of 1969) and a graduate of Mount Vernon Nazarene College, where she obtained an associate's degree in music and attended Morehead State University. She was an extremely talented pianist and was an organist at Christ Episcopal Church in Ironton. She also scored music for Rome Studios in Columbus and was a private piano teacher while living in Columbus. She was a caseworker for 20 years with the Lawrence County Department of Human Services where she showed special attention and love to her clients. She was a member and attended Faith United Nazarene church in Ironton. Anybody who knew Vicki knew that she was an extremely dedicated mom, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and coworker. She was beautiful, talented and devoted to her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Johnny R. Allen, her brother Gerald Anthony Deer, her nephew Eric Anthony Deer, grandparents Lonnie Herald and Nellie Davidson.

Vicki has two daughters, Bethany Hope Reed and Allison Ruth Brooks (Jessica Kirkpatrick) both of Columbus. She has three surviving nephews Jeremy Lee Deer, James Heath Garrett Deer of Ironton, and Joshua Deer of Naples, Fla. She also has two great-nephews Landon and Levi Deer.

Funeral will be held noon Thursday, at O'Keefe Baker Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral Home.
