Mr. Bergeron was a native of Port Barre and a resident of Opelousas. He retired after twenty nine years of service with Texas Eastern Gas Pipeline Company. He was parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Mr. Bergeron was a veteran of the military having served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. While stationed in Alaska, he received the Good Conduct Medal.

Survivors include one daughter, Cynthia Ann Richard and her husband, Carl, of Mobile, AL; one sister, Eula Mae Leger and her husband, Alvin, of Fordoche; one grandchild Kimberly Huggins and her husband, Chris, of Mobile, AL; and two great grandchildren, Hailey Peacock and Ian Westerfield.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Lanclos Bergeron; his parents, Joseph Bergeron and the former Amie LaComb; one brother, Wilbert Bergeron; and one sister, Barbara Ann Lockaby.

A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and will continue from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday.
