(1935 - 2005)

Audrey J. Wegner, age 69, village of Cleveland resident went home to her Lord on Tuesday, April 19, 2005.

She was born June 27, 1935, in Oconto County, the daughter of the late Ervin and Margaret Gohr Lubus. Audrey graduated from Oconto High School in 1953. During her high school years, she worked as a cook for the people who owned the Bond Pickle Company. After high school, she moved to the Manitowoc area and was employed by the Mirro Company. On June 21, 1955, Audrey was united in marriage to Edward N. Wegner at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Mishicot. The couple resided in Manitowoc. In 1968, they moved to Cleveland. The marriage was blessed with four children. Audrey was the most thoughtful, generous, caring, person that anyone could have the privilege of knowing. Her friendship was true and her smile lit up a room. Her friends never had a bad thing to say about her and her friendship ran deep. Her family was always well cared for. She taught us things that we will carry along with us. Most of all she was loved by all. The best wife, mom, grandma, anyone could ask for.

Audrey was employed at Stock's Dinner Club as a cook for 35 years retiring in 2003. After retiring, she worked for Bondes Mini Mart in the bakery until she became ill. Her hobbies and interests included painting in water color and oils, scrapbooking and other crafts. She loved to cook for everyone and always had a new recipe to try on people. She was a member of the Eastern Star of Manitowoc, VFW Auxiliary Post 8974 of Cleveland, The Ever Ready Homemakers Club of Cleveland and most recently joined The Cleveland Red Hat Society.

Audrey is survived by her husband: Edward of Cleveland; two sons: Randy E. (Ann) Wegner and John E. (Cheryl) Wegner, all of Sheboygan: two daughters: Barbara A. Wegner of Sheboygan; and Joan (Sean) Beatty of Noblesville. Ind.; eight grandchildren: Tyler, Mike. Emily, Andrea and Randy II, all of Sheboygan; and Leah. Shannon and Michaella of Noblesville. Ind.; two brothers: Roger Lubus and Dan (Donna) Lubus, all of Oconto; three sisters: Elaine Smith of Indianapolis, Ind.; Bernice Schwalbe of Manitowoc; and Carol (Dan) Zachek of Two Rivers. Preceding her in death are her parents and two brothers-in-law. Preceding her in death are her parents and two brothers-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 22, 2005 at Zion United Church of Christ, 1125 N. Sixth St., Sheboygan. The Rev. Steven J. Pedersen, pastor, will officiate and a burial service will follow at 1 p.m. at Knollwood Memorial Park, 1500 Highway 310, town of Kossuth, Manitowoc County.
Friends may call at the Stoltenberg Funeral Chapel, 1056 Hemlock St., Cleveland, on Thursday (TODAY), April 21, 2005 from 3 until 8 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.

The Ladies of VFW Auxiliary Post 8974 will hold a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday (TODAY), at the Stoltenberg Funeral Chapel.

A memorial fund has been established in Audrey Wegner's name.
