A visitation for Cathy E. Schmidt, 49, a resident of West Chicago, will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, at College Church in Wheaton, Washington and Seminary avenues, Wheaton, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23. Interment will be private in Wheaton Cemetery. Born Sept. 10, 1960, in Rockford, Ill., to Clifford and Freda Kinkade, she was called to her heavenly home Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, surrounded by family and friends. Cathy worked for Central DuPage Orthodontics for many years. She was a member of College Church in Wheaton, where she served as an adult leader with the high school youth group and mentored many students who loved and adored her. Cathy was a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and was a huge water sports enthusiast and enjoyed spending time on Wonder Lake with her family. She was an energetic person with a wonderful sense of humor and was passionate about her children and the gospel. She leaves behind her husband of 28 years, Greg; her two children, Wesley and Hope; her sisters, Karolyn (Daniel) Kentner, and Connie (Louis) Tisovec; and many extended family and very dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
