MONMOUTH -- Harley A. Dalton, 82, of 1205 E. Main St., died Wednesday at home of an illness.
He was born in Coleridge, Neb., and had lived in the Monmouth-Independence area most of the time since 1937. He retired from the livestock business in 1977. He was a member of the Independence First Baptist Church and the Monmouth Odd Fellows Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Ellen, Monmouth; sons, Kenneth H., Independence, and Clifford S., Corvallis; daughters, Maxine H. Ackley, Tustin Calif., and Velma Rae DuFault, Lebanon; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Private services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Howell-Edwards-Doerksen mortuary, with private interment in Restlawn Memory Gardens.
The family suggests contributions to the Monmouth Cardiac Unit or the Independence First Baptist Church.
