Amelia Solis Martinez, 82, of North Platte, NE, died June 18, 2010, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte. Amelia was born May 19, 1928, at Ojodeagua, Zacatecas, Mexico, to Thomas and Marcelena Leanos Solis. She grew up in Ojodeagua and was home schooled. She raised her brothers and sisters after her mother died. On November 26, 1964, Amelia married Bruno Martinez in El Platiado, Zacatecas, Mexico, and they moved to North Platte. Amelia was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She loved going to church and social meetings with her friends. She was a housewife, mom and grandma. She loved cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Amelia is survived by her daughter, Debra (Ben) Dempsey of Friend, NE; a son, Richard (Tamra) Martinez of North Platte; seven grandchildren, Patrick, Conor, Kayla, Emily, Isabella, Richard, Jr., and Jacob; four sisters and a brother, Juanita Solis, Guadalupe Solis, Alisia Solis, Felisita Solis and Manuel (Concha) Solis, all of Ojodeagua, Zacatecas, Mexico; many nieces, nephews and other family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruno; her parents; and a sister, Maria Solis. Rosary service was held June 21, 2010, at Odean Colonial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was June 22, 2010, at St. Patrick''s Catholic Church.
