Arnold Longstaff died 1943 in Scotts Bay, Kings County; death record can be found in Registration Year: 1943 - Book: 208 - Page: 391.
*--31 OTU's Lockheed Hudson (#AM773) aircraft, with an aircrew of four, was on an operational anti-submarine patrol; AM773 went missing, presumably ditched at sea. The bodies of only two members were recovered when they washed ashore.
The four airmen who perished in this incident were-
RAAF Sergeant Philip Maxwell BURNS,
RAF Flying Officer Jeffrey HOWARD-BANGS,
RCAF Sergeant John Archibald GILLIS and
RAF Sergeant Arnold LONGSTAFF.
