CHAFFEE – Arthur W. Miller, 57 years old, of Chaffee, died at approximately 11:50 Monday morning of an apparent heart attack at his business here, Art's Tavern.
Mr. Miller had been employed by the former Sports Specialty Shoe Co. of Chaffee from 1939 until 1968. For the past 14 years he had also owned and operated Art's Tavern. He was a member of Chaffee Elks Lodge No. 1810.
He was born Feb. 19, 1914, at Dutchtown. He moved to Chaffee from Gordonville in 1936. Mr. Miller was first married to the former Miss Alvena Glueck. In 1947, he was married to the former Miss Velma Green. Survivors include a son, Robert Miller, Cape Girardeau, a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Held, Jr., Chaffee; his father, Wm. Miller, Cape Girardeau; and three grandchildren.
The body is at the Bisplinghoff Funeral Home in Chaffee where funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. R. L. Robinson, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Chaffee, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
