William Faulkner, 1902 Rockton avenue, who had spent all of his 69 years in Rockford and was widely known as a market gardener, died Saturday morning at 2:20 o'clock at his home. He had been in failing health for two years from a complication of ailments.

He was born in Rockford, May 7, 1856, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Faulkner and married Miss Anna Laying, June 19, 1879. The couple have resided at the present address for 40 years.

Besides the widow, he is survived by 11 children: Clara, Eva, Arthur, Harry, William, George, residing at home; Mrs. Albert Olson, 1225 School street; Oliver Faulkner, 2619 Wilbur street; Mrs. Burt Maxon, San Pedro, Calif.; Mrs. J. E. O'Brien, Belle Flower, Calif.; and Mrs Charles Jones, Porterville, Calif. There are also seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at the residence at 2:30 o'clock, the Rev. Jesse S. Dancey of Court Street M.E. church to officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Bluff cemetery.
