Steven M. Gilbert, 54 of rural Decatur, died at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne on Thursday, November 5, 2009. Steven was born September 8,1955, in Adams County to Samuel and Yvonne Marie (Ross) Gilbert. He married Lisa Evans o April 26,1975.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa Gilbert of Decatur; his mother, Yvonne Marie Gilbert of Decatur; a son, Ian (Erin) Gilbert, and a daughter, Mrs. Shelby (Brian) Garcia, both of
Decatur; a brother, David Gilbert, and a sister, Mrs. Lori (Joe) Fullenkamp, both of Decatur; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Gilbert, on
December 7, 2005. Steven attended Decatur Church of God.
He was a salesman for Shaffer Investment Auto in Decatur and
a member of the Metropolitan Owners Club of North America.
Calling will be from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at
Haggad and Sefton Funeral Home, Decatur, and one hour prior to services at the church. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 9, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the Decatur Church of God. Dr. Robert Brink will officiate. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
