The sudden death of Mr. Chaney, who was but 35 years of age, was a shock to his family and friends as he had only been ill a few hours before death came.
Mr. Chaney, an employee of the city, was born in East Baton Rouge Parish, and had lived here all his life. He was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church.
Mr. Chaney leaves a sister, Mrs. W.E. Bourke, of Baton Rouge, and four brothers, Anthony, George and Leon Chaney, of Baton Rouge, and Joe Chaney, of Kansas City.
